FX exposure is a core risk in cross-border trading. Buy in USD and sell in EUR, and a move in EUR/USD between purchase and collection hits the margin directly, even if the price of the goods never changed.
The usual ways to handle it: price in a single currency and pass the risk to the other side, hedge with bank forwards, or carry the exposure within a tolerance and watch it closely.
A CTRM helps by showing each deal in its own currency and converted to the base currency at a daily rate, typically referenced to the ECB or a provider such as Open Exchange Rates.
